About Dan

Dan Beerens is an educational consultant, author, international speaker, and educational leader. Before starting DB Consulting in May 2010, he served as Vice President of Learning Services and Director of Instructional Improvement at Christian Schools International from 2006 to 2010, and as a building principal and then Director of Curriculum and Instruction with Holland Christian Schools from 1993 to 2006.
 
He regularly presents on curriculum mapping and design, teacher evaluation and professional growth and school improvement at regional, national and international conferences. Dan is the author of Evaluating Teachers for Professional Growth: Creating a Culture of Motivation and Learning published by Corwin Press in January 2000 and he wrote the Nurturing Faith blog from 2006-2014.
 
In March 2014 he was named as the Senior Fellow for Improvement and Innovation at the Center for the Advancement of Christian Education (CACE) at Dordt University and currently serves in that position. He also served as an adjunct professor in the Dordt College graduate education program from 2010 - 2018.
 
As sales representative for Curriculum Trak, he has helped the company grow from its beginnings to serving over 900 schools in 30 countries, of which approximately 95% are faith-based. He currently provides staff development to schools with their mapping process.
 
Dan is the co-founder and current co-chair of the annual international Christian Deeper Learning conference.
 
With co-editors and co-MindShift leaders Lynn Swaner and Erik Ellefsen, he published MindShift: Catalyzing Change in Christian Education (ACSI, September 2019) which explores several of the topics/case studies explored during the two year transformational dialogue process.
